Tenten Wei brings over a decade of unparalleled experience to the entertainment industry, serving as the Head of Studios at EST. Leading both EST Studios and EST N8, Tenten spearheads the development, production, and distribution of film and television content. Tenten's career highlights include producing films that have received acclaim and recognition at prestigious film festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, and Cannes.
In addition to her producing successes, Tenten has represented over 300 titles for worldwide sales and contributed to the distribution side of blockbuster hits like "Malignant" by James Wan, "Umma" by Sam Raimi and “Hi Mom," which grossed $800 million at the Chinese box office. Her ability to navigate seamlessly from independent projects to high-profile Hollywood productions demonstrates her versatility and adaptability in the industry.
Sophie Changhui Shi obtained her BA in English from Hong Kong Polytechnic University before venturing into the field of Certified Public Accounting at Deloitte. However, her true passion for storytelling propelled her to Los Angeles, where she achieved the distinction of being the fifth Chinese student admitted into UCLA's esteemed MFA Producers Program. Standing out as the first Chinese woman accepted in the 2010s, Sophie completed her studies in 2021 and subsequently joined HBO and Janet Yang's production company. Her contributions encompass notable projects like GOOD GIRLS S2 (NBC), STAIRCASE (HBOMax), WE OWN THE CITY (HBO), and an eagerly anticipated Bruce Lee biopic directed by Ang Lee.
Catherine T. Nguyen is an award-winning director/producer based in California. Her passion for storytelling drew her to the NYU Tisch School of Arts, where she graduated cum laude with a B.F.A in Film and Television and a minor in Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology at Stern. Leveraging her diverse suite of skills, Catherine served as a producer for CHICKEN, which world premiered at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival. WHITE BUTTERFLY is her directorial debut which has screened at festivals around the world, including the Hawai’i International Film Festival, CAAMFest (AT&T InspirASIAN Undergraduate Winner), Yale Student Film Festival (Best Director Winner), among others.
Prior to joining EST, Cathy Ni earned a double major in Film, Television & Media and Pure Math from the University of Michigan, followed by an MFA from the American Film Institute. With a profound passion for East Asian and international cinema, Cathy brings comprehensive experience, honing her sales skills through collaborations with distinguished professionals and companies, including writer-director Han Han, whose films grossed over 6 billion RMB at the box office, Dadi Cinema, and Blue Box Financing. She has also closely worked with prominent Chinese writers like Shang Xuetao and Zheng Zi, as well as major Chinese studios, where she successfully negotiated film adaptation rights deals surpassing 1 million RMB and contributed to notable films such as Only Fools Rush In, Tiger Mom, 40 Acres, and Kill or Be Killed. Leveraging her extensive resources and industry connections, Cathy excels at bridging and introducing exceptional Asian cinema to global audiences, consistently pursuing the "Greatest Stories Never Told" alongside EST N8
